A little tension at Toro Rosso (call it Red Bull spill over?)

So, not so fast on the new that Toro Rosso is keeping its driver line-up for 2011.

Sebastien Buemi apparently says he hasn’t signed anything yet and that there are still a few details to work out with the team.

Autosport is carrying this, although the Buemi quotes originate from German pub Blick, which I don’t recall being the world’s most reliable authority. Still, his statement is pretty cut and dry:

Buemi, however, has denied having signed a contract with Toro Rosso and admitted he is still considering his options.

“I have not signed yet,” Buemi was quoted as saying by Blick. “Also, there are some details that are missing, so the transfer market is still open.”

Team boss Franz Tost started this story off not too many hours ago when the said this:

“I believe our drivers will be well prepared for 2011, which is why they are both confirmed for next year,” said Tost.

“It is also logical, because one key role of Scuderia Toro Rosso is to bring on young drivers from the Red Bull Young Driver programme and at the ages of 21 and 20 respectively, both Seb and Jaime certainly still meet the right criteria.”

I wonder what could have Buemi hesitating. I also wonder if he’s just trying to get his name in the press. I certainly don’t see any better opportunity for him.
