Something about the bendy wing fiasco doesn’t sit right with me. If the test is the test, and all teams are subjected to the same test, then it’s fair all around. What I don’t find fair, is in one team says, “Well, how about if you test it like this?” and then that becomes he new standard, mid season no less.
Three races ago, Red Bull and company had a fair advantage. And with the bend of an ear, it’s become an unfair advantage. Sorry folks; that stinks.
My hunch is that it was compliant to the test but it actually deflects more than what the FIA would like them to flex so they reckon the test isn’t robust enough to capture the amount of fleet the wing is displaying. The crafty part is that they have a material that will not flex under the specific test load specifications but does flex under real world loads when driven. I don’t know but that’s my guess.

Aside from that, I have loved this show ever since I first heard it and I look forward to it every week. Thanks for… Read more »

I said he was cunning, wickedly smart and did a lot for motorsport and the FIA. His biography was a very enjoyable read and I highly recommend it. Yes, he had a salacious moment in his career and the remembrance articles I’ve read in the UK and around the world are, as you would expect, mixed. Regardless, I also can respect what he did for our sport and I… Read more »
