AUDI Withdrawl From DTM Race

4

In what could only be called an “interesting” decision; Wolfgang Ulrich, head Audi motosport boss, pulled all of he Audi’s in the Barcelona DTM race into the pits. After multiple on-track incidents between Mercedes drivers and Audi drivers, Wolfgang felt that it was not “racing”.

Difficult racing is one thing but could these incidents be deliberate on the part of Norbert and the Mercedes teams? Apparently Dr. Ulrich felt something was amiss and pulled his cars because “this is not how Audi races”.

When I read this story, the first thing in my head, was this was practice for the ALMS, if the rules don’t run their way….

Actually, I agree with Audi that IMSA needs to change the rules so that the P2 cars are not as fast as the P1 car…. why have different classes when the top 2 classes race each other….

Sorry to burst you bubble Todd, though I do love skewering the Ferrari dudes.
