Boullier hopes win=$

There was an interesting comment made by Kimi Raikkonen in the post-race interview in which he suggested the win in Abu Dhabi was good for the team and for those who run Lotus F1 and that hopefully it would give them some belief. The reason I key in on that comment is the persistent rumors that Lotus F1 owner, Genii Capital, may be looking for a way out of their investment but team boss Eric Boullier says that’s just a rumor.  He also said:

“There are many things needed to be a top team,” said Boullier. “We have now shown the world we are serious, that we can deliver and so it should help with any commercial discussions.

“But to build a team, a winning team, we also need more experience and time because this team is new in a way, new with two new drivers.

“We have learned this year to work all together, with our drivers, and we’ve had our ups and downs.

“But we can see now Kimi is here for qualifying and the race, and as for Romain, we will see yet.

“We have been on an upward curve this year, but now there is extra belief and motivation in what we are doing and capable of doing.”

I’d say that if he were wanting to send a message, it is clear he wanted this win to be the message for Genii. He’s also hoping that sponsors will take the team even more seriously and realize the real threat Lotus F1 poses on the grid and just how well the team can do given limited resources.
