Sebastien Bourdais says there is no issues with his boss, STR’s Franz Tost, despite rumors that the team has been at odds with the French driver since running in to teammate Sebastien Buemi:
Already under pressure after a difficult start to the 2009 season, the 30-year-old French driver is said to have got into a row with Tost in Barcelona, after crashing into teammate Sebastien Buemi at the start of the race.
Team figures obviously blamed Bourdais for the incident, with Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko telling Switzerland’s Blick newspaper: “Maybe he should have put his glasses on.”
But Bourdais told the BBC at Monaco: “No, there’s absolutely no row.”
He insists the start of the season has been difficult.
“I think the team knows that I’m doing the best I can. We had zero running at the start of the (winter) season and we’ve had to learn a car that changes every race; every race there is something different,” said Bourdais.
I can’t help but think Le Seb may be giving Nelson Piquet a run for his money on who gets fired first.
