Button sets fastest time in 2013’s 1st test

Jenson Button was the fastest man for the first 2013 test in Jerez. The fuel pump issue that sidelined him was resolved and he came back to secure the top spot. As with all testing, it means a tremendous amount to the teams and fans alike but it is difficult to know what program each team is working on and what the times mean to each team based on their desired outcomes.

I enjoyed following the AUTOSPORT folks on Twitter as they worked their tails off trying to assemble a composite lap time based on fast sectors but even with that expert assemblage of time, it is still challenging to know the actual pace of the cars and we’ll only truly know that come qualifying in Australia next month.
