This driver got his start on motorcycles with his brother. He later started racing cars at Le Mans and participated in over a dozen of the endurance races where he eventually won. His brother died in a horrible accident in their home town Grand Prix and yet he continued on to become a main player in F1 winning in only his 9th Grand Prix.
He died in a racing accident and has a corner named after him in commemoration.
