Dixon fined $30,000, placed on probation for actions at Baltimore

Scott Dixon has been placed on probation thru December 31st of this year and has been fined $30,000 for his comments towards Beaux Barfield and Tim Cindric following Sunday’s Baltimore Grand Prix  INDYCAR’s reasoning lies in two rules in the official rulebook: Using improper, profane or disparaging language or gestures in reference to Officials, Members or action or situations connected with INDYCAR, the IZOD IndyCar Series, or any Event.

9.3.7. If any Member uses improper, profane or disparaging language or gestures and references a specific Official by his/her name, such Member may be fined a minimum of $25,000 and may be subject to additional penalties based upon the particular circumstances.

Dixon will have the chance to work off his fine by making public appearances for INDYCAR, similar to what Will Power did after New Hampshire in 2011 and Sebastian Saavedra after Detroit this season.
