How much does a previous title equal in the entire scheme of a season? Some suggest that Lewis Hamilton’s previous title will give him a perspective and approach that his teammate, Nico Rosberg, doesn’t have. That may be but for me, the pressure is the real challenge and Lewis had two years, very early on, where he faced intense pressure back in 2007 and 2008.
For Nico, that may hold some water but he’s not worried about it telling AUTOSPORT:
“It’s not a concern for me,” said Rosberg. “It might help him, yes, quite possibly having those experiences. But it’s not something that I am concerned about.
“I’m focused on my own thing. He is a strong competitor, he has his strengths and weaknesses, but I concentrate on doing my job with my team and getting the most out of it.”
Do you think Nico’s Monza performance shows it could be pressure that ends his campaign? As our own Paul Charsley says, it is always harder to be leading that following and Lewis had the patience and pressure that comes with a title.
It will be interesting because the NBC Sports broadcast team said that Nico was losing the mental battle between the two drivers and I’ll be honest, I just don’t see that right now. That’s just my opinion but do you feel, of the two, Lewis is better positioned and having won a title, more likely to handle the balance of the season better?
