Many have suggested that the announced move of the British Grand Prix from Silerstone to Donnington Park could be a political gambit fashioned by F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone.The idea is to place pressure on the BRDC, the governing group of Silverstone, to make a deal and pay the requested amount to host the Grand Prix.
According to Damon Hill, BRDC President, the Donington plan is on track and a reality. It is his sobering conclusion that the British Grand Prix will indeed move to Donington Park. You can read the article here at The Guardian:
“As far as we are concerned the British grand prix is moving to Donington in 2010. What we now have to do is knuckle down and work to ensure that Silverstone remains a centre of excellence for British motor sport.”
