In an interview with Croatian TV, Bernie Ecclestone has suggested that he is keen on a gold medal system instead of points for Grand Prix victories.The points, Bernie feels, is a detriment tot he F1 championship process and he deems a gold medal system, similar to the Olympics, would be an easier way to determine champions in F1.
Bernie also shares his opinion on the Spa-Francorchamps debacle and why he thinks F1 should be less democratic and more final in its decisions. As Grace pointed out in Podcast #71, NASCAR has a similar approach to their series and it seems to work for them…the benevolent dictator role.
