Ecclestone’s mother-in-law kidnapped in Brazil

In an incredibly bizarre and very sad news story, according to Reuters, Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone’s mother-in-law has been kidnapped in Sao Paulo Brazil and is being held ransom for 28 million Pounds.

Aparecida Schunck, the mother of Ecclestone’s wife, Fabiana Flosi (39), was abducted and the ransomers demanded 120 million reais (27.8 million pounds).

Ecclestone (85) married Flosi in 2012 and it’s not the first time the Ecclestone’s have been threatened. The ransom is said to be the highest ever asked for in Brazil.

If I didn’t know better, I’d swear this came out of the National Enquirer.

That explains why Bernie left Hungary on Saturday. It’s a scary world we live in, and money and wealth are no guarantees against sorrow and hardship. I hope and pray for a speedy and safe resolution to the situation.
