We are saddened to hear of the passing of Formula 1 legend, Eddie Jordan. Our deepest condolences to friends and family.
For me, Eddie was the ultimate privateer. Bombastic in his approach, tenacious in his deal-making/creating and an example of true grit and hustle. Eddie certainly left his mark on F1 from producing one of the most beautiful F1 cars to exist in the 7-Up 191 to giving Michael Schumacher his first go in F1.
He started in F3000 and took his passion for racing to become a serious contender in the late 90’s with Honda power. The 1, 2 finish at the Belgian Grand Prix in 1998 led to their most competitive year in 1999 with two wins.
Eddie was a unique and candid voice in F1 and while he may tell it like it is, he was a breath of fresh air in a world of varnished PR speak. Eddie had opinions and was usually pulling at the threads as a F1 pundit for TV and that was a large part of his charm.
Eddie was given an OBE in 2012 for his services in motorsport and a fitting award to be sure. He is survived by his wife Marie and four children.
His legacy and footprint on the sport will be felt for generations and he will be sorely missed. I wish Drive to Survive would have been around back in the 90’s, Eddie would have stolen the show!
Stuart over at Autosport penned a nice obituary here.

Very sad day for F1, he was such a part of the sport.
Didn’t always agree with his opinions but you had to respect his passion.
Indeed. Eddie was one of a kind!
