F1 launches all ten teams at O2 in London

Formula 1 had it’s F1 75 launch at the O2 in London this evening in spectacle of video, sound, light and music. The 2025 F1 car livery launch was a star-studded event and the firs too its kind in the history of Formula 1.

Each team revealed its car and two drivers with short commentary, except Red Bull, and the event included a few musical acts and some humor for a little levity in the evening.

My initial take is that it was a massive event to produce so good for F1, they spent a fortune on that stage, lighting and sound. Cool to see all the teams there and I am intrigued about how each team’s creative video and music montage was selected or done. The lighting a projection image mapping was very well done.

For me, the unfortunate part of the evening was the boos for Lance Stroll, Max Verstappen, FIA and Pirelli. Not called for.

Red Bull had a really nice montage of involving car culture and Christian Horner tried to introduce the video amongst boos which was really in poor taste. There are a lot of British men and women who work for that amazing team and it’s a bit of shame although I am glad that my team, Ferrari, isn’t the bad guys anymore. Every sport needs a villain and it seems Red Bull have now taken up that role. Interesting to read the coverage at Autosport and see them speak of each team and quote the teams except Red Bull. Very odd.

I do think a few designers found the “gradient” button in photoshop and while the cars looked fine, I’m not a big fan of gradients, I tend to like contrast.

There were some cringy moments and usually from the additional hosts although I think Jack Whitehall did a good job and didn’t really need a host of other presenters if I’m honest, he could carry the evening.

Great to see all the British drivers get the crowd excited and they have every right to be, there are a host a very talented British F1 pilots on the grid this year.

To be fair, it was all very British but it was economic and to the point. If it had been an American thing, it would have been over the top, overblown and teetering under its own weight so I appreciate that.

The big question, which car livery was your favorite?

Not over the top? You’ve got to be kidding. It was nothing subtle about this whatsoever noisy loud and except for a few moments completely confusing cuz this is what the cars are going to look like anyway. It’s just a public spectacle to raise people’s awareness of what’s coming. Sorry but I don’t buy in.

For that amount of money they could have given us an extra day or two in testing, broadcast testing.

It felt like a bad school eisteddfod.
I’ve never been a big fan of Gordan Ramsey, but yes dude! Go for it!

So what did we learn? Merc, Red Bull, Ferrari, Aston, ect. look just as we expected them to look. At least VCARB did something different! The only livery worth seeing really. All the others, I’ll see in DTS on March 7th since they haven’t changed.
