I love Seb, but I think he’s caught a bad case of family-itis; where you don’t take unnecessary risks anymore. Sadly for a race driver, it costs you on track. The same can be said for Alonso. Even if you put them in last year’s Merc, teamed up with a young gun like LEC or VER, I don’t think they’d be on the top step as often as their younger rival. IMO
Yeah, I have heard that before too and I wonder if Seb isn’t ready for a different phase in his career.
I think he, like Alonso and Kimi, are in that time when you are just enjoying what you have and making it last as long as you can. Again, all unquestionably skilled drivers, still fun to watch, but just not willing to stick the car in where it shouldn’t be. However, watching them set up a pass; amazing.
