F1 Timeline – this week in #F1 – the British GP edition

Firstly, I must apologise for the delay in bringing this week’s F1 Timeline to you. It wasn’t for lack of trying. Of course, I was at Silverstone this weekend, which delayed me somewhat, but problems with my internet connection on Monday also made it difficult to even find, let alone pull together last week’s tweets. But here it is…

It was a somewhat up and down week. It started off badly when Maria de Villota crashed during the straight line aero test at Duxford last Tuesday, and ended on a high as the sun finally came out in Silverstone for the ninth round of the season. So without further ado, here’s what the teams, drivers and the F1 media have been saying this week…

What the drivers have been saying:

Last Monday, Jenson Button had a few choice words to say about something that had been said in the press:

@JensonButton: ‘Button confused by Alonso ‘****-kissing’ rubbish! I never said that. What I said was its always amazing how complimentary drivers become

Mark Webber shared a photo of the RB9, which was on display at the Goodwood Festival of Speed:

Before Maria de Villota’s horrific crash on Tuesday, Timo Glock shared this image:

Following the news of Maria’s accident, the drivers shared their thoughts:

Webber had a sneak peek of the Red Bull’s British GP livery on Tuesday:

Daniel Ricciardo was one of many talking about the weather on Wednesday:

Heikki Kovalainen received a lovely tweet from a fan on Wednesday:

Nico Hulkenberg shared a photo of his genius engineers on Thursday:

Meanwhile, Rosberg met Stirling Moss:

Meanwhile, Red Bull’s spy was with the drivers for the drivers’ parade:

After the race, there was a leak:

 Autosport’s Jon Noble was the first journalist to talk about the weather:
