Paul “The International” Charsley recently attended the AUTOSPORT International show in the UK and while there, he had a chance to attend a session with James Allen interviewing the incredible Allan McNish.

Allan is a wonderful guy and terrific driver and he was speaking to a group of race marshals about safety, track design, young drivers and more. I hope you enjoy this ASI debrief replete with words from James and Allan.

Fabulous interview. It must have been wonderful for Paul, observing as the crowd reacted to McNish’s gesticulations, feeling the room’s energy. McNish is an engaging orator; he exhibits some of that welcome bravado any hero has, but also some contemplative perspective beyond his discipline and into the wider motor port world. Great stuff. Felt a point of pride McNish name-checking my local track’s layout, even if it was question its condition back then.
