The United State Grand Prix is here. It has finally come and with a change in the wind and delicate fall scent in the air, we head south to the great state of Texas to hear the V8 Formula 1 engines for the last time…ever?
Our quest to Austin will find Paul (@paulf1b), Mark McArdle (@charlie_whiting aka- Fake Charlie Whiting) and Todd (@negativecamber_) representing Formual1blog.com this year and the fine folks at Shell are making all of this possible. We will be working with Shell all weekend including touring the Ferrari garage and visiting the trackside Shell lab.
It’s important to Paul and I that we get as much information to you regarding Formula 1 racing fuel and lubricants as possible. What would you like to know about Shell and Ferrari? What things have always nagged you about how the team develops their fuels and lubricants? Now is your chance to ask.
Leave your question in the comment section below and we’ll do our best to get them all answered for you.
F1B Meet Up
F1B will be on site this weekend but one thing that Paul, Mark and Todd feel strongly about it recreating the original purpose and intent of our blog. The passion and character of F1B has always been about friends sitting in a pub, having a pint and talking about Formula 1. That will be recreated in its purity on Saturday night between 8:30pm and 9:00pm at:
Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa
575 Hyatt Lost Pines Road
Lost Pines, Texas, USA, 78612
We’ll be at the bar, having a pint and talking about F1. If you care to stop the loud music, pomp & pageantry and cultural overload, then having an intelligent, intimate moment to catch your breath and share a beer with good friends is what we’re offering.
It’s not an “Official” anything. It’s not a trumped up event with microphones and charitable causes fondling your goodwill. It’s a simple evening spent with friends sharing opinion and an intimate understanding that when we share a common love and simple vulnerability, we build true, meaningful relationships.
We’ve always considered our community as a group of friends and this is a chance to be real and true to that notion. We are also excited to giving away a Lapizta watch and you have to be at the Tweetup to be entered to win. We might even broadcast or podcast live…who knows? We’ll see how it goes.
We’ll be joining our friends Tim and Vance of Friends of Formula 1 Austin Texas for the meet up and it would be a great chance to meet both of them as well.
Keep watching Twitter for our #f1b hashtag as well as #shellvpower for updates all week long and we hope to see you soon.
