It only took us a season and a half, but as we head into the 10th round of the 2012 Formula1Blog.Com Staff Picks World Championship, we will begin sharing our picks before each round so that our faithful readership can let us know which staffers are numskulls and which staffers are stark raving mad geniuses. So as we head into Germany, the two favorites for the win are Herr Vettel with staff 4 picks for the top step of the podium, with Lew Ham a close 2nd on 3 picks. The sole outcast is Paul, whose betting on championship leader Alonso to take the victory.
This week’s “tugging on your hear strings” choice is wee Felipe Massa. On the apparent strength of his giving our Laura a hug at Silverstone, all staffers save Grace and Tony, the resident Debbie Downers, have picked the Brazilian to score, with five if us slotting him into the 6th and final F1B points paying position. First Out is a smorgasbord of the sharp end mixed with the low end, as that Donkey of the Race slot is filled by de la Rosa, Raikonnen, Pic, Alonso (Laura!), Maldonado (seems a safe bet), Grosjean (seems a safer bet), Kobayashi and Grace’s bi-weekly favorite for First Out, Schumacher. A virtual Who’s Who of the current grid.
