We’re another week and another test closer to the start of the season. With the second test, the first of two in Barcelona, done and dusted, here’s what’s coming up on this week’s #F1Chat…
So did we learn anything new at the Barcelona test? Over the course of the four-day test, Sergio Perez was the fastest ahead of Fernando Alonso, with Sebastian Vettel fifth. What can we conclude from this, if anything? Jenson Button has admitted McLaren are struggling to understand their new car, despite their early pace in Jerez and being fastest overall in the first Barcelona test. What do you make of this? Adrian Sutil believes he’s done all he can to secure a race seat following his day of testing for Force India on Thursday – do you think he’s done enough? Do you think the teams learnt more about the new Pirelli tyres during the second test?
Lewis Hamilton has said that he believes his rivals are wrong to suspect that Mercedes could be amongst the frontrunners in 2013. Both Hamilton and Rosberg topped the timesheets during the second test – what do you think – could they be contenders or do you agree with Hamilton?
What do you think about the new Williams FW35? The nose certainly looks different… What about its track debut – Pastor Maldonado says its a big improvement on its predecessor? Do you think Williams will win in 2013, and if so, with which driver?
Some of the drivers have suggested there may be more pitstops than anticipated, and more than last year, during the first few races of the season due to high degradation. Do you think this is a bit much?
