After four weeks away, Formula One returns to (almost) everyone’s favorite track, Spa Francorchamps. The FBC staffers are splitting their picks evenly for the win, with Hamilton and Vettel getting four tics apiece. Half of us are expecting the two championship protagonists to finish one-two, while the other four see Ricciardo, Verstappen or Bottas coming home next best. For the most part, everyone’s top six picks are filled with Mercs, Ferraris or Red Bulls, though Perez does get two nods and Ocon takes one for himself. Palmer continues his strong run of “Best of the Worst” picks, with three picks for First Out.
Wehrlein, Kvyat, Alonso, Grosjean and Stroll get one pick each to be the first to exit in Belgium. The FBC points battle has definitely heated up here in the middle of the season. Tony is now just eleven points back of Paul in first, with those two splitting their picks for the win. So that gap could easily change come Sunday. Third through seventh place sees five staffers with just twelve points between them. And let’s not forget that J.P. finally picked up some much need points last time out after having gone some seven straight races with nothing but goose eggs. So things are shaping up to possibly be as epic as Eau Rouge!
