I didn’t think the FIA would take the Lewis Hamilton Snapchat, press conference walk-out behavior very lightly and so they haven’t. It seems that the FIA have requested his presence at this Thursday’s press briefing in Austin for the US Grand Prix this weekend.
I’ve also read reports that his team also asked that he shake it off (see what I did there) and just get on with it. The FIA has regulations that a driver must appear at these briefings if requested by the regulatory body of F1. Failing to do so could be met with sanctions on the driver.
Let’s see how Lewis responds to the request. Meanwhile, the three-time champ will have a role in the upcoming Call of Duty game, Infinite Warfare.
“I grew up with Super Mario, where the graphics were outdated at the time,” he said. “It’s crazy to see how far it [computer games] went – the realisation is unbelievable.
“I loved it, it was a great experience, I am incredibly honoured to be part of this game. I’ve been a fan for years.”
They should give Lewis a full character with an assault load out and a few frags so you can play Lewis in capture the flag. Another great cross-marketing opportunity that promotes F1 and one more reason F1 loves his social media and brand-building lifestyle.
