FOTA looking for ‘independent’ replacement for Mosley

Toyota’s John Howett said today that they would prefer someone independent to fill the position of FIA President now that they have effectively dispensed with the controversial and confrontational Max Mosley.

“We would like to see someone independent, perhaps independent from any of us, either currently or historically. “It would mean a much better balance.”

Rumors have been flying about Jean Todt, former Ferrari boss, as Max’s replacement. Even some suggesting that Max will publicly endorse Jean Todt as his preferred successor.

I find that hard to believe but I submit that Bernie will have a very keen interest in who gets selected.
