Chip Ganassi Racing and Felix Sabates will enter a second Daytona Prototype (DP) with Izod IndyCar series drivers Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti. The race will be at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca on Sept. 7 and 8.
“It is thrilling to have two respected IndyCar drivers competing in the Daytona Prototype class this year,” said Gill Campbell, CEO and general manager of Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “Dario was here just last week driving exhibition laps with Patrick Dempsey in a Porsche 935 during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. I guess the four-time IndyCar Series champion just can’t get enough of our scenic Monterey Bay and challenging circuit.”
With just two races left in the season, ten drivers are within five points of the Daytona Prototype lead so things are heating up and it should be a good show at Laguna.

The two drivers are the most successful driving duo in the Grand Am series history with 27 race wins.
