Wow. I guess Grace’s rant hit home with the boys at Honda. Alright Grace; we hold you responsible. This just in from Fox News.
Technical Director Geoff Willis has left the Honda Formula One team, according to unconfirmed reports.
It remains unclear whether Willis left of his own accord, or if he was dismissed following the team’s miserable start to the season.
But the writing was on the wall when Honda announced on Tuesday that Shuhei Nakamoto had been promoted above Willis to senior technical director.
Just days earlier, Willis’ surprise absence at the British GP was attributed to the Englishman being given a ‘factory-based’ role.
Willis joined the then BAR-Honda team in 2000, taking on the role of Technical Director in 2001.
