You guessed it, no matter how well Romain Grosjean did in qualifying Saturday, he’s going to start two places back because apparently he feels everyone behind him in queue are a$$holes.
The line had queued up past the Lotus garage and instead of slotting in the back of the line, Grosjean was released and he tucked in the line in front of the fearsome Felipe Massa…of Williams no less.
According to Article 23.6 of the Sporting Regulations, “any car(s) driven to the end of the pit lane prior to the start or re-start of a practice session must form up in a line in the fast lane and leave in the order they got there”.
That means that our favorite current French driver will now start 10th for Sunday’s Malaysian Grand Prix. On the upside, he originally out-qualified the Williams which is really interesting to see. I’m not saying I was right but I did say that Lotus has set their sight on Williams and I believe they can do it in 2015.
That’s at least the second time gro has been penalised because the teams didnt read the regs. Remember last year he got pinged because they didnt know the procedure for starting from the pits.
That’s right, I had forgotten that incident. Good reminder. Need to crack the rule book again. :)
Chance would be a fine thing. MAYBE by Spain. Maybe.
