Lewis Hamilton dug deep to claim pole position for the Chinese Grand Prix on Sunday.With a less than stellar first flying lap in Q3, Lewis reversed his lack of speed by flying in sector two to claim pole. His position, while positive for the championship hopes, is certainly threatened with two Ferraris on his tail with Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa in second and third position.
In all, Lewis put together a near perfect lap to give him the best chance at redemption from last weeks failure and possibly the chance to win the title in Sundays race.
Perhaps a the biggest surprise is the failure of Robert Kubica to progress to Q3 for BMW. Wonder what kind of scolding BMW will get publicly by Robert. Honorable mentions have to go to Fernando for a fourth place grid position and both Scuderia Toro Rossos advancing to Q3.
