Is Rod Nelson’s job at risk?

5

GMM reports that rumors have surface concerning Rod Nelson’s job after he ran the show in France.  Sam Michael was absent from the race.  Rod, as you may recall, was Alonso’s race engineer at Renault and left that team to joint he Grove squad at Williams.  It is rumored that his job as Chief Operations Engineer has resulted in little success in 2008.

Apparently Patrick Head said that France was a “very mediocre performance”.  We’ll have to keep an eye on Rod’s position but I can’t help but think that Williams as a whole is feeling some pressure from all sides for it’s lack of performance.

I really expected more out of them this year. Although Kaz has had a few good races which is a few more than I expected.

They’ve lacked either pace or luck in almost every race. The few occasions where they’ve turned up with a decent package Nico has decided to investigate whether his nose cone is an effective battering ram or not.
Though I do feel sorry for them doing so well at Melbourne – that kinda artificially raised the bar at the start.

Go Williams!
Please.

Well Williams is lucky to have a good set of drivers. It’s not as if they’ve been burried by lack of effort on either Nicco or Kaz’s part. The problem is the car, and sadly, I don’t see Williams getting any better in the next few years unless they pull a Sauber and link up with a works team of their own…
