The chagrin you feel is echoed across all the non-advertising foreign media in Europe that I listen to. Any media that does not need advertising revenue to report on events agrees 100% with your dismay at the rapid destruction of F1 with these new engine formulas and the need for recharging.
Interestingly, the Chinese station out of HK even went so far as to decry the new formula and suggest that as the Beijing taxis can pull in and automatically get a refreshed battery, why can’t F1? Grace would be happy at that refueling (of a sort).

Question: Listening again — are you saying that the onboard computers (with AI?) are learning the way the driver uses the recharge and throttle to modify the set up automatically? If so, then soon the talented driver is not as necessary.
