Brawn GP CEO Nick Fry says that he is sure something can be worked out regarding Jenson Button’s contract extension beyond 2009. Jenson had just signed for a large sum with Honda F1 prior to their pulling out of F1 all together. this left Jenson with a difficult choice and he chose to gamble on Brawn. Now his handlers will most assuredly remind Brawn GP of that and demand a high salary. Question is, can Brawn GP actually afford it?
“I’m sure he will be sitting there with his people and they’re thinking that his price is going up the whole time,” Fry said. “But maybe the sponsorship for the team is going up too, so maybe we can afford it.”
