We don’t cover MotoGP too much but there is no question, we’re fans. If you’ve listened to Grace and I for any length of time you’ll hear us discuss the MotoGP series and races from time to time and you may also know that my favorite rider is Jorge Lorenzo. I think Grace favors Randy de Puniet.
Imagine my elation as Jorge secured the World Championship in the Australian GP last weekend fending off the ever-pesky Dani Pedrosa! The news gets even better as Lorenzo will now join the the 4-wheel racers at the Race of Champions this year in Bangkok Thailand on December 14-16. It’s a great event and it will be fun to watch Jorge attempt to take on the world’s best drivers as well as attempt to come to grips with two extra wheels.
“2012 has been a fantastic year for me and I can’t think of a better way to finish it off than by taking on the world’s best drivers at the Race Of Champions,” Lorenzo said.
“It will be a pleasure to share such a fantastic race with some of the best drivers in the world.
“It will clearly be a challenge to take them on at their own game but I’ll do my best to get the most out of the extra pair of wheels.
“With Mick Doohan in the field, we will both be aiming to show we can do very well on four wheels too. I hope the public enjoy it and have fun with all of us!”
Jorge will be joined by Formula One’s Sebastian Vettel as well as Michael Schumacher and Jamie Whincup. This should be a lot of fun so mark your calendars.
