I’ve always said that there is life after Formula One and in particular, I think there are many drivers who would do well in eundurance racing. I’ve always mentioned Nick Heidfeld as a guy who might do well. Allan McNish has done exceedingly well and even Marc Gene and Giancarlo Fisichella. You can add Lucas di Grassi as the latest formula 1 driver to jump in the series.
Audi announced that Di Grassi will join Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen for the race at Interlagos in September. Lucas said:
“The WEC race is a nice opportunity to attract attention at home together with Audi,” says the delighted 28-year-old talent. “Endurance racing is a fascinating discipline of motorsport which Ive only experienced in tests so far. Thats why Im particularly excited about my debut in the WEC for Audi alongside two big names like Allan McNish and Tom Kristensen.”
If you were going to join a team in the WEC, Audi would be the one to join and if you were going to join Audi, I can’t think of a better duo to be paired with than McNish and Kristensen.
