Magny Cours back on the map…for young driver test

One of the sagas of 2012 has been the official young Driver’s test. It was supposed to be after the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi but many teams were not keen to the travel from Brazil back to the Middle East to attend. The dissent was met with a young driver test at Silverstone earlier this year and Williams F1, HRT and Marussia all participated. Now it seems that Magny Cours will see a young driver test as well.

According to AUTOSPORT, Mercedes had put for the the idea as an option after the Italian Grand Prix and it seems Ferrari have agreed to it. The story says that Sauber, Lotus, Caterham and Force India’s plans have not been revealed yet but that Red Bull, McLaren and Toro Rosso are all sticking with the original plan at Abu Dhabi.

It’s a tangled web and interesting to see the teams arrange their own tests based on their logistical concerns or perhaps political as well as desires regarding the circuit layout.
