We asked the question, who do you think could be the 8th winner in 8 races in Formula One this weekend in Valencia? The majority of responses have a Lotus F1 driver leading the list of potential winners but few have pointed to Ferrari driver Felipe Massa and the Brazilian feels he could be the man to do it. Massa told reporters:
“Can I be that eighth winner?” he said.
“If you look at how many things have changed in this year’s races, with strategy and other situations, then many drivers have the chance to win and, sure, I put myself in this category. I would be very happy to be the eighth winner.”
As Reuters reporter Alan Baldwin points out that British bookmakers have Massa at 50-1 to win while even Sauber’s Mexican driver Sergio Perez is 33-1 and 12-1 for Lotus F1’s Frenchman Romain Grosjean. The odds are not in Massa’s favor but perhaps his new confidence and some luck will get him at the top of the podium come Sunday…although I don’t like 50-1 odds and I’ll be looking for a Lotus or Mercedes to claim the 8th winner in 8 races thank you.
