More Maldonado penalties, 10-places for Monza

Three days in Belgium netted Williams F1 driver Pastor Maldonado three penalties. The Venezuelan driver was hit with his first penalty for impeding Nico Hulkenberg during the Q1 session of Qualifying on Saturday and his 3rd-place qualifying performance was moved back three spaces.

During Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix at Spa Francorchamps, Maldonado garnered two more penalties . One for jumping the start and another for his incident with Marussia’s Timo Glock. Pastor told SPEED’s Will buxton that his hand slipped on the clutch and thus prompted a jump start.

After being involved int he first-turn collision prompted by Lotus F1’s Romain Grosjean, Maldonado re-joined the track only to collide with Glock. The two racing incidents will net a 10-place penalty for Maldonado at the Italian Grand Prix at Monza in a weeks time. Has William’s F1 had enough mishaps at the hands of this driver? Is his $25M that important to their program given there are drivers who may be as capable or is Maldonado putting that car in places it doesn’t deserve and pressing the limit to do so? What do you think of Maldonado’s performance thus far?
