Max Mosley made a statement at Shanghai regarding the chance of a break away series in F1.
“It is becoming in my view increasingly unlikely that will happen. It would involve a very significant investment and it is difficult to see where the money would come from,” said the FIA President.
“In the end, Formula One is a brand or a concept rather like the Olympic Games and all the drivers want to win the Formula One championship.”
Perhaps the splinter series A! may get more traction than the GPWC but a quick answer to the money issue seems to be TV revenue and manufacturer involvement. Not to mention merchandise, sponsors, endorsements etc. I guess the money would come from the same place it comes from now, Max.
