The owners of Silverstone want you.
Well, they want you to give them suggestions for the name of the circuits new paddock and pit complex. I suspect it is in reaction to Damon Hill’s insistence it be called the “Damon Hill is Better than Michael Schumacher, we all know it” Pit Area. But that’s just my suspicion.
What’s in it for you, you’re wondering? Plenty:
Man, even harder than coming up with a good name is deciding on what last prize. Ferrari versus Lotus verses open wheel … and that’s dropping Aston and rally right away? (Lambo? Meh.)
Here’s the entry details, from the Silverstone site:
All entries received before 17:00hrs on Friday 08 October will be reviewed by a panel of high profile judges, with the best suggestion being put forward for final consideration by the Silverstone Team.
Fans are able to submit their entry via the Silverstone website (*terms and conditions apply): www.silverstone.co.uk/pitandpaddock/
The new Pit and Paddock Complex will reaffirm Silverstone’s position as a premier racing destination, providing world class facilities, including new garages, a race control building, flexible conference and exhibition space, new podium, media centre, hospitality and VIP spectator zones.
The facility was designed with speed and velocity as a base concept, but the new name does not necessarily have to be motor sport related. For further information on the new building, visit .www.silverstone.co.uk/development
So get those entries in! There’s only one per person, so while I understand keeping your best idea to yourself, share your also-ran ideas below. Damon would want you to.
