The FIA released a provisional calendar last week which included the New Jersey Grand Prix on the 2013 schedule but the Guardian quoted Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone as saying that the group associated with the race no longer have a contract:
“have not complied with the terms and conditions of the contract which is now gone anyway. They don’t have a contract.”
“We are pretty close to the final deadline,” he said. “We have got a world council meeting coming up.
“I think if somebody got behind them it could happen in 2013 because they have come a long way with the circuit.”
The event organizers parted way with Tom Cotter in August adding to speculation that the race is in trouble. Could we see Valencia back on the schedule? Maybe not as Ecclestone told the Guardian that they could be looking at Mexico and then:
“After Mexico we want to go to South Africa,”
