No Chinese Grand Prix…again

Formula 1 will be skipping the Chinese Grand Prix again in 2023. If you read the news, then you know the current tumult in China and perhaps F1 wants to avoid the entire situation.

The statement says that F1 is looking for alternative locations to fill the gap but I might suggest just leaving the race off the calendar and sticking with 22 races.

F1’s comment:

Formula 1 can confirm, following dialogue with the promoter and relevant authorities, that the 2023 Chinese Grand Prix will not take place due to the ongoing difficulties presented by the COVID-19 situation.

Formula 1 is assessing alternative options to replace the slot on the 2023 calendar and will provide an update on this in due course.

Hopefully they can shove another Middle-East or Disneyland Grand Prix in there somewhere *eye roll*

OR! Maybe their plan all along of having 24 GP’s is to allow for a certain amount of drop off. Cunning! Quite cunning. ~X8
