No Stopping Me!

26

Uh, Lewis said:

“We are in the race. How can you have a red light at the end of the pit-lane? But that’s the rule and I accept it.

“I start 10 places back in the next race. It’s a bit harsh.

“I didn’t aim to ruin anyone’s race. I’ve already lost everything.

“But going forward, the mood is strong. The fact is we destroyed everyone.

“With the car we have right now there is no stopping us. It is not going to take me a day to recover or anything.

“I’ll be back training straight away and I am really looking forward to Magny-Cours.”

Is it possible for an ego to cause blindness? Maybe? It would explain alot.

jeez… time keeps on tickin’… and with each tick and every tock I’m reminded of last year when my opinion of Lewis was met by the sound of crickets.

one year later and even Lewis fans are starting to repeat my words.

I am the Prophet Noddy, Contrarian Extraordinaire, Seer of the Truth!

” How can you have a red light at the end of the pit-lane?”
How dare you put a red light!!!! :D lmao This guy’s ego is starting to seriously affect his capacity to see the reality.

What a pleasure to be here, on this free-of-hamilton-hype oasis….. My doctor said to me that if I needed to read brit press and not to loose my mind it was mandatory to have 3 dosis a day of this blog …

So, according to Lewis and the British Press, here is who all are responsible for the aforementioned “prang”:

1. First and foremost, Kimi for parking his car in THAT spot, and not giving Lewis a way to get past.
2. The FIA, for putting a red light up while they’re racing, dammit!
3. Charlie Whiting for that “needless” safety car
4. Adrian Sutil, for crashing at an “inconvenient but not obviously dangerous” spot.
5. And, maybe to an infinitesimally small degree, an iota of blame goes to Hamilton. After all, he was racing to win…

Also, interestingly, BBC chose to add their own interpretation of Lewis’ comments:

“Going forward, the mood is strong. The fact is, we destroyed everyone [on pace].”

I would truly hate to be in Ron Dennis’ shoes right now. He has a kid who can drive the wheels off a car, but has had some serious junior moments (not Nelson… but that wouldn’t be a bad comparison at times) and has no clue how to keep his mouth shut.

Poor Ron. At least he’s still got Heikki.

Lewis should understand that the penalty was not for taking himself out of the race- it was for taking *Kimi* out of the race. My rating of Hamilton is on a steady decline.

Of course they destroyed everyone on pace…

I mean…who was in the lead when the accident happened…

Who had set the fastest lap….

Must have been the “destroyer”…..

But no… so I guess someone else hadn’t read the script Lewis….

This is all very humorous. I acknowledge openly that I’m not a Kimi fan, and don’t feel the need to explain why to anyone. It’d be nice if people would do the same with Hamilton. The guy runs his mouth too much? I wonder what you or I would do at his age and in his situation? Ah, but maybe like Kimi we’d ramble on incoherently when interviewed! Yeah, that’d be better! I swear, if it ain’t Schumacher, no F1 driver gets respect in forums! A popularity contest it ain’t folks.

I have said many times that Lewis is young. Can’t imagine what I would be saying in a similar situation. That’s not an issue for me. What is more odd is that in today’s world of managed PR; he should have a better agent or PR person helping him and coaching him. Schumacher had Sabine to protect him and Webber but Lewis has his Dad and while Anthony’s probably a bang up guy; he is missing this part of the equation. Ant should hire an assistant for Lewis if he can’t handle the job and let them coach Lewis. Why… Read more »

Looking at the incident…

Two guys at fault…Lewis and Nico….

Same penalty although most think Nico’s was the lesser offence….

Who has stood up…accepted the penalty …. with absolutely no excuses….

That’ll be Nico…

Although I would expect Uncles Frank and Patrick to slap him if he didn’t…

Ron and Martin should take note instead of bolstering an inflated ego….

Some to tell this guy to take it easy. This is going much greater than his size. He has to remember last year and feel shame. He lost the championship in the last two after running wide when pitting on Shanghai and the his stupid two mistakes at InterLagos/Brazil. Does Luis think that people believed that story of the suddenly not functioning gear box? LoL, McLaren had no techincal failure last year. Little Luis, you are lucky and telling you; being humble is the sign of greatness and you are not humble. Actually I never seen someone has ego like… Read more »

But Cristiano Ronaldo does win everything, doens’t he? Go Portugal…

About LH i think this kid has a serious problem entering or exiting the pits… That must come from the good old UK racing drivers school. Nige, Damon and DC in Adelaide 95 (my personal favorite)…

Lady Snowcat, seeing as Nico isn’t in the running for the championship, I don’t see why he’d bother to protest the penalty. And since when was an inflated ego a bad thing for a driver to have? The list of F1 drivers without one can’t exceed a dozen names going back to 1950. Noddy, Lewis fans aren’t repeating your words now, just the F1 bandwagoners who make up at least 75% of all “fans”. Believe me, if and when he wins the championship, the overwhelming majority of the people blasting him now will be falling all over themselves to lavish… Read more »

FFC Lewis didn’t protest either… he knew it was correct… he just didn’t have the grace of Nico, who whilst he isn’t in the championship, wants to get as many points for himself and his team …. So even if he isn’t such a very, very lucky boy as Lewis, and isn’t in a top team, of course it matters, and to pretend he feels it less is riduculous….he still wants to compete and try for the odd podium…. And whether or not he does brilliantly for the rest of the season…. because he’s fortunate to be very talented AND… Read more »

Well one could argue his ego and sense of entitlement comes from being groomed his whole career to jump straight into a top F1 team right out of a feeder series. It wasn’t like he worked his way up like Kimi (Sauber), Alonso (Minardi), Webber (Minardi), etc. So to hate the player, one first must “hate the game”, that being the likes of the team that hired him and the management that created the path he has taken. I imagine if Lewis was starting out in a Toro Rosso or a Force India, his ego would be much more in… Read more »

The answer, Rootsy, is one. But Benetton were not a multi-championship team with a long, rich history of winning like McLaren. You also have to factor in the issue of leaving them for Ferrari who at the time really were horrible. Schumacher worked very, very hard for his success. Lewis is just realizing how difficult F1 really is and I think he’ll rise to the challenge. He may have to fall a bit before he does.
