Ove Andersson: January 3, 1938 – June 11, 2008


Former Toyota F1 boss Ove Andersson has died in a rally accident in South Africa.Ove had overseen four driver’s titles and three constructor titles in rallying for Toyota and later headed the Toyota F1 efforts.

“Ove was an inspiration to our team and to many in motorsport. His passion for motorsport was legendary and he is a great loss to our sport.”

He will be missed.

Ove Andesson is a legendary motorsport icon.
His passion for Toyota allowed him to lead Toyota into Formula 1. As a “privateer”- he worked his way thru local Toyota dealers, National Distributors, and finally TMC (Japan)into participation of Toyota products in world-class competition.
A “customer” first, Ove’s persistance and successes is a prime example of how Toyota motorsport enthusiasts is a very important core group- that Toyota must continue to support.
One man that led the Toyota Conglomerate!
