Perez on pole for Saudi Arabian GP

Sergio Perez put his Red Bull on pole position for the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix after his teammate, Max Verstappen, suffered a drive shaft issue leaving him down in 15th for the start of Sunday’s race.

This left an opening for both Ferrari and Aston Martin to get on the front row and as fate would have it, both of them did. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc finished in P2 but will serve a 10-space grid penalty leaving Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso to move up to the front row in P2.

A glimmer of hope for Mercedes as George Russell put his car in P4 and he also will start ahead of his teammate, Lewis Hamilton who had a lap time deleted for crossing the white line leaving him down in 8th.
