Lewis a team player…… HA, that’s rich! The guy must have an extremely short memory.

They forced “The Schum”, as you guys call him out at Ferrari. So why couldn’t they force out Todt?

I agree with NC about the team orders. There going to be team orders, no matter what ever you call them or how many pit stops you make! It’s all team orders…

I am glad to see you agree with team orders. It is silly to continue this charade. When the Red Baron was doing it; no one liked it. Now that Hamilton is there, it will give him the opportunity to win even more championships. ;)

But the ban on team orders has nothing to do with actually ban team orders as it does the appearance of banning team orders. The Schum’s little out burst after Indy made the sport look really bad in a very public manner. I’m not say spygate etc don’t also make the sport look bad but after Michael’s statement they had to do something.

Speaking of team orders….

Never heard a peep about it when Ron told Lewis to let Alonso by during the qualifying, isn’t that team orders?

Grace, Has Stephneygate harmed F1 any? I really don’t think it has, though it has peeled back the curtain some to see how F1 really works. which in my deranged opinion is a good thing.

That would be team order, John but as you know, Macca doesn’t have them. Wink, wink.

I don’t like team orders, I like the idea of the driver racing to win, but I also realize it is just part of it. It’s going to happen so I don’t know why the FIA even tries to stop them.

It is a team sport of high stakes and team orders are going to be involved. like it or not, they are part of winning a team sport. I agree, why try and pretend they don’t exist.

1. Perception is everything. We all know team order still happen, but the FIA can officially say that it doesn’t which is all they really want. Perception is EVERYTHING.

2. As I stated during the podcast, I don’t think stepneygate has hurt the sport. It’s too complex and only us anoraks care. Something like team orders, however, is really simple so the media and NASCAR fans gravitate to it.

I thgink you addressed this in the podcast. I just saw this story and according to it Kovy isn’t signed for next year. What are they waiting on? They can still sign Alonso even if they have kovy.

I have no idea why the haven’t signed Kovy yet… perception maybe?

you know i’ve seen wet races before, and this may show my ignorance, but what the hell was that we saw on sunday? it was freakin synchronized swimming! i didn’t enjoy it at all. and every third comment was, “they can hardly see…how can they see?…wow, no visibility whatsoever!” etc…i guess it’s impressive the Hamster swam the best, but it seemed like a waste of a race to me. i did like the surfing at the end with massa, but otherwise, a waste of a race for me. but great pdcast as always!

Wet race is one thing but Sunday was a monsoon. In an ideal situation, Sundays race would have been red flagged but thats a logistical nightmare so the show continues.
