As we’ve learned from the Bahrain Grand Prix, political unrest does happen and it can impact scheduled races along with many other things. Today race organizers for the Race of Champions announced that the race would be postponed due to protesting in Bangkok Thailand:
“The Sports Authority of Thailand and the organisers of the 2013 Race Of Champions have announced the event cannot take place as planned…due to the current political situation in Bangkok,” race organisers said.
“The Race Of Champions has been held all over the world for 25 consecutive years and we are currently looking at options of repeating the success of last year’s event in Bangkok on another date.”
Let’s face it, it may have just spared the world of another Michael Schumacher/Sebastian Vettel domination right?
