Rare car and driver

This driver’s family had a garage, recurring theme, and he participated in several F2 events as well as F1 and Sportscars. He never finished better than 3rd in F1 but was partnered with some incredibly talented men in both F1 and Sportscar racing. He won a Sportscar event and drove an ill-fated car from a famous manufacturer (rare car funded by the European arm of this maker). He tragically died practicing for a race in the United States.
