Red Bull takes over New York, sings national anthem

Fist things first, the Red Bull visit to New York is a terrific showing for race organizers and it creates a buzz in the area where most folks understand open-wheel racing as a cab driver who’s lost a fender or two racing to your destination on 5th avenue. Secondly, what visit to the US would be complete without the Red Bull show car msinging our national anthem?  In fact, the car sings it better than me. Red Bull said, “On Monday, the car toured Liberty State Park, showcasing the spectacular views of the New York City skyline as well as the Statue of Liberty. Feeling ever so patriotic, the car ‘sang’ the Star Spangled Banner as the sun was setting”.

The RB7 was driven by David Coulthard and the Red Bull ambassador said:

“I’m really looking forward to seeing what the final video looks like. We’ve done Liberty State Park, the Lincoln Tunnel and the racetrack for next season. Bringing all those elements together, the combination of the high-speed stuff in the car combined with the tracking shots, we’re going to end up with something that will be really entertaining for the fans. The fans are already asking me on my Twitter account when they can see the footage, so there is a lot of excitement about Formula One coming to America. Red Bull have done more than anyone to promote the fact that we’re going to have not one, but two grands prix in the States. This is a big enough country, a sophisticated audience that gets the technology of Formula One and at the moment, we are delivering good racing.”

A full film is in the making but here is a teaser of the Lincoln tunnel:

How cool is that??!! Stay tuned.
