Takuma Sato made a terrific return to F1 form during the recent F1 test at Barcelona this week.Taku is gunning for a seat at STR in 2009 and clearly shared that thought with the owners. Sebastien Buemi also tested for the Italian squad as well as 15 other drivers shaking down the developments for next years cars.
Grace and I have complained that we feel Le Seb deserves another year at that team and Sato’s performance doesn’t necessarily mean he won’t but in the end, Sato has sponsor money and a lead foot where Le Seb has only one of the attributes at the moment. We will see if the magical allure of the Japanese driver will prevail at STR or will Gerhard pass in favor of a Red Bull stable boy in Buemi and a veteran in Le Seb?
