That’s right folks. All is right with the world.
Ralf Schumacher has captured his first pole in his DTM career today. I’ll let Autosport wax poetic:
The ex-grand prix driver shone throughout the session. He topped the times in Q1, was third in Q2, and then just made it into the Q4 pole position shootout with the fourth fastest time.
That meant he ran first of the four drivers gunning for pole, but Jamie Green, Martin Tomczyk, and championship leader Bruno Spengler all failed to beat his benchmark.
You are reading that correctly. Ralf Schumacher and the word “shone” appear in the same article. And not in this use: “Michael once again outshone his brother, Ralf.”
So, time to pick Michael for the win in Silverstone? (Probably not, he’s admitting the Mercedes just isn’t competitive enough.)
