The Williams team has made a few internal changes that will move recently hired Jost Capito into the role of team principle and Simon Roberts packing his boxes for the first bus out of the team.
Technical director Francois-Xavier Demaison will oversee all engineering. The interesting thing about Demaison is that Capito’s first 100 days was spent assessing the team and he found that there was a communication gap between the factory engineering efforts and the racing team efforts. The change reflects a consolidation of the engineering focus so there is no gap in the communication.
Robert said: “It has been a pleasure to take on the role of Team Principal following the departure of the Williams family from the sport. However, with the transition well underway I am looking forward to a new challenge and wish everyone in the team well for the future.”
Capito said: “Simon has played an integral role in managing the transition over the last 12 months and I would like to thank him for his great contribution during that time,”
sort of sounds like a Southern “now aren’t you a dear…” BYE BYE and don’t let the door hit you on the way out
The first of many more shuffles, so it sounds.
