Apparently the teams are allowed a 50Km shakedown prior to a grand prix.This is presumably to iron out any bugs or issues before the grand prix. It is also known that the summer break is traditionally banned from any testing by the teams.
Using the 50Km pre-race shakedown regulation, McLaren, Renault and Force India tested their cars at Kemble Airfield in Gloucestershire. Letter of the law versus the spirit of the law.
